BMW Road Map North America Premium 2016-1

You can use a 32 GB or larger FAT32 formatted USB stick to install this update.

USB Instructions:
=================

1. Use 7Zip (or compatible archiver like Entropy on OSX) to extract North_America_Premium_2016-1.7z.001, it will auto-extract all of the parts of the archive automatically.

2. You will be left with three folders called USB1, USB2 and USB3 and Instructions.txt (this file)

3. Copy all three folders to your 32gb USB stick (don’t copy Instructions.txt)

4. Move the file/folder found in the USB1 directory (config.nfm and pkgdb) on the root of the USB drive

5. Insert the USB stick into the USB port in the Glovebox (the center console will NOT work)

6. Follow the onscreen prompts, it will prompt for the FSC code (see below for information on getting an FSC code)

7. The update will begin to load

8. When it prompts for the second USB, remove the USB stick, reconnect to your computer and delete config.nfm and pkgdb from the root of the drive

9. Move the file/folder found in the USB2 directory (config.nfm and pkgdb) on the root of the USB drive

10. Reinsert USB into the glovebox and allow it to continue updating

11. When it asks for the third USB, repeat steps 8-10 but use the USB3 folder

12. Wait for it to finish loading the data and you're done!

DL-DVD Instructions:
====================

1. Use WinRAR (or compatible archiver) to extract North_America_Premium_2016-1.7z.001, it will auto-extract all of the parts of the archive automatically.

2. You will be left with three folders called USB1, USB2 and USB3 and Instructions.txt (this file)

3. Burn the contents of USB1 (config.nfm and pkgdb) to a DL-DVD disc (those two items should be the only thing on the disc)

4. Burn the contents of USB2 (config.nfm and pkgdb) to a DL-DVD disc (those two items should be the only thing on the disc)

5. Burn the contents of USB3 (config.nfm and pkgdb) to a DL-DVD disc (those two items should be the only thing on the disc)

6. First DVD into the DVD slot on the CIC and it should prompt for update.

7. Follow the onscreen prompts, it will prompt for the FSC code (see below for information on getting an FSC code)

8. The update will begin to load

9. When it prompts for the second DVD/USB, eject the DVD and insert the second DVD

10. When it prompts for the third DVD/USB, eject the DVD and insert the third DVD

11. Wait for it to finish loading the data and you're done!

Notes:
======

1. Also, some USB drives come with a hidden partition at the front of the drive. Make
sure to go into Disk Management (for Windows) or Disk Utility (OSX) and delete all partitions.
Then recreate a single partition formatted FAT32 (Windows) or FAT (OSX, it's FAT32 by default).

FSC Code:
=========

You need an FSC code to load the maps from the USB/DVD into your Navigation System
You can purchase them from your local BMW dealership or you can reach out to someone who
can generate these codes for you at a price.
