By now you probably know the story behind the G-Unit Records' newest member of the family. While in Arizona on his J.O. the man 50 Cent called through and convinced the young Hot Rod to pack his bags and leave his 9-5 for the 24-hour grind of the rap game.







So Hot Rod did what every emcee that submitted a demo to Interscope's henchman: hung up the phone before 50 was finished and caught the first flight to the NYC to join the G-Unit team.







With a style that's been characterized as exactly opposite of his G-Unit counterparts, Young Hot Rod brings a new style to the most successful record label since 2001. With a vibe similar to 50 in his ability to flow over any beat (from R&B to hip-hop to party style music to the old school) but similar to none when it comes to content.







Admitting he didn't grow up in the hood or busting guns, Young Hot Rod pauses on the intro to let you know this is a non-violent mixtape movement then proceeds to have his man lick shots at a G-Unit hater. With a dose of comedy, confidence and cockiness that G-Unit is known for, Young Hot Rod hits the mixtape scene with Mick Swagger, a mixtape prequel to his debut album The Fast Lane.
