[Douglas Tottle]Fraud, Famine and Fascism : The Ukrainian Genocide Myth from Hitler to Harvard(pdf){Zzzzz}[BЯ] (Size: 16.92 MB)
DescriptionThis brilliant book refutes the anti-communist lie that the Soviet government deliberately created a famine in Ukraine in the early 1930s. Between 1926 and 1939, Ukraine's population grew by 3,339,000 - hardly evidence of genocide. What really happened? There were severe droughts in 1930 and 1931, and what Tottle calls, `mass destruction wrought by kulak resistance to collectivisation'. He cites Frederick Schuman, Woodrow Wilson Professor of Government at Williams College, who wrote of the kulaks, "Some murdered officials, set the torch to the property of the collectives, and even burned their own crops and seed grain. More refused to sow or reap." He also cites Isaac Mazepa, former president of Petliura's Nationalist `government' in Ukraine in 1917-18, who boasted that the crop failures, and therefore the resulting famine, were due to this terrorism and sabotage: "At first there were disturbances in the kolkhosi [collective farms] or else the communist officials and their agents were killed, but later a system of passive resistance was favored which aimed at the systematic frustration of the Bolsheviks' plans for the sowing and gathering of the harvest."
