La Leçon de guitare (Short movie)
A man with nothing to do all day decides to take guitar lessons. He falls for his music teacher’s flatmate who flirts with him slightly and even has the same name as the Serge Gainsbourg chanson he’s struggling to learn “Laetitia”. Not so much a passionate love story as a finely woven, laconic film about what it’s like to be just that little bit in love.

THE GUITARE LESSON is Martin Rit’s first short film. Martin Rit is a former pupil of La Femis, who is currently working on the production of his medium length film. We can go on to develop our argument and say that it is a film that deals with the process of learning, and that it was made in the framework of the Canal+ 2006 collection "Ecrire Pour..". So far nothing exceptional, you say, and yet, it has been nominated for The Caesars and selected for the Berlin Festival! This 20 minute long piece of work is a true little lesson in great cinema.
