I saw this two hander on stage some years ago and can testify that the radio adaptation is just as moving and gripping.

Fifty years into their marriage, the general discovers that he never knew his wife. It starts with her signature on a newspaper petition against nuclear arms, but leads to all too many revelations about their life together.
