Due grandi lavori nati per promuovere la Canzone Napoletana in giro per il mondo.

"Era l'anno della mia nascita (...ma non vi dico quale...) quando per la prima volta la musica "non accademica" veniva ospitata nella prestigiosa Carnegie Hall. Si trattava dell'orchestra di Benny Goodman, un evento che finalmente "laureava" il jazz come musica "importante" per la cultura americana. Per me appena quattordicenne l'album "Benny Goodman at the Carnegie Hall" era un sogno irraggiungibile, per il prezzo e la sua "preziositα". Assolutamente inimmaginabile, poi, sognare che un giorno avrei suonato proprio su quel palcoscenico, quello di Goodman, ma anche di Toscanini e Caruso. cos∞ nei suoni e nelle voci di questo doppio CD si sente la mia grande emozione e quella dei miei bravi compagni dell'Orchestra Italiana, pur abituati alle platee di tutto il mondo. Forse ci vuole la mia etα (quella "certa" etα) per capire finalmente il grande segreto della buona musica. L'emozione "vera" che si traduce in espressione e "sentimento". Soprattutto quando si tratta di celebrare la bellezza delle melodie napoletane (le pi· belle del mondo...) e la poesia di quei testi popolari e colti, allegri e malinconici scritti sotto la dettatura di una vera ispirazione. Questo Φ quello che ancora una volta hanno celebrato i pi· giovani ragazzi dell'Orchestra Italiana. E finalmente voglio ringraziarli di cuore per questa laurea che loro hanno certamente conseguito e che hanno fatto raggiungere anche a me. Come in un antico sogno."

"It was my birth date (I'll keep you guessing) when, for the very first time, non-academic music was invited to the great Carnegie Hall. The king of swing Benny Goodman and his orchestra brought Jazz music to its rightful heights in the USA. For a fourteen-year old italian kid, the benny Goodman album of his Carnegie Hall session was only a dream, both for price, and prodigious value. It could only have been a wishful thinking that one day I would be on these same borads the likes of Goodman, and even Toscanini and Caruso once were. The most I can say is that you will hear in this double CD my emotion and that of my dear coplayers of the "Orchestra Italiana". Though we've played throughout the world, I being a bit older than the bunch is important; you acquire a better ear for recognizing good music. Especially when you're asked to play memorable Neapolitan melodies (loved throughout the world). Some of the finest lyrics, true poetry, expressions of joy and melancholy entwined with apt, inspired rhythms, which the younger members of this "Orchestra Italiana" have learned to express. And I hereby thank for having passed every test that was put to them, thus giving me also cause for pride. Yes, my early dream has come true."
