A space odyssey with a difference, Moonmen is a philosophical encounter between an orbiting astronaut and a CB radio enthusiast in rural Ireland Moonman.....................Dermot Crowley Radio announcer.................Linda Wray Spaceman.....................Nathan Osgood DJ...........................Paul Sheridan Ground Control..............Peter Marinker Producer Eoin O'Callaghan From the Radio Times The Wire: Moonmen 9.00pm Radio 3 An American astronaut and an Irish CD radio enthusiast meet on a restricted airwave. This might sound like the start of a joke and there are, indeed, many moments of dark humour in this play, but it is a taut psychological thriller. Both men are isolated, lonely and miserable but for very different reasons. They begin talking to one another every day, but no rewarding friendship is building. In fact, it is closer to the baiting, tormenting and mind-twisting that was last seen in Sleuth. A brilliant example of radio drama at its most gripping.
