As FROZEN HEART the band released a number of popular demos and they wound up as winners in a BBC Essex radio contest in 1989, the prize being a support slot to a DR. FEELGOOD show at Southend's Cliff Pavilion in front of a 1,500 strong capacity crowd. The quintet then released an EP 'Shout It To The Top' culled from a Friday Rock Show session due to public demand. Line-up changes resulted in the group deciding to relaunch themselves in 1992, adopting the name WALK THE WIRE. Under this monicker the band picked up a deal from the Swedish Megarock label and released their debut album in October 1994. Gigs were few and far between though and following a support slot to MAGNUM in April 1995, prompted by the departure of guitarist Andy Webb, WALK THE WIRE folded. Keyboard player Nigel Hobbs emerged once more in early 1998 fronting a fresh project QUADRATURE. The band's debut album seeing WALK THE WIRE vocalist Paul Watkins guesting.
