This is the 1983 US 12" (Quality QDC 45), ripped to 16/48 FLAC in February 2012.

The 4:51 mix was called the Extended Version on the original UK 12" in 1982, and the 8:25 mix was called the Disco Mix.

B-Movie's guitarist played on this. "Pagan Ritual" is New Wave, while the catchy "Lucifer's Friend" is synth-pop with strong disco and New Wave influences. The long mix has a sparser feel and somewhat dubby sound with its gratuitous, reverb-laden solos.

Apparently it was a hit in European dance clubs. I like it, despite the silly vocals. It reminds me a little of "This Desert Place" by The Twins.
