There isn't much available biographical info on trumpeter Woody James that I could find beyond that printed on the dust jacket; which is elaborately reproduced and included.


I bought this "cutout" vinyl new as I recall, several decades ago, likely noticing Phil Woods and Shelly Manne as participants and immediately needing to possess the record. I wasn't disappointed although generally I prefer less scripted jazz. A pleasing mix of standards and original music. Tight written arrangements by Bill Holman..........Dt
