In the 1980s there was a "tropical island party" craze in pop music. This soca song by West Indies performer Arrow was first released in 1982 and became one of the hits in that realm when released as a single in 1983. These remixes are from 1984 and updated the sound to be slightly "harder", but they're not really all that different from the original. The song was later covered by Buster Poindexter; his version was almost a parody, but was the bigger hit.
