[1992] Recoil - Faith Healer (Radio Mixes) [RCD MUTE 110]
01: Faith Healer (Radio Mix) - 4:53 02: Faith Healer (Healed Mix) - 3:50 02 mixed by LFO This is the UK promo CD single (Mute RCD MUTE 110), ripped to FLAC with CUERipper in January 2012. All tracks verified OK against the AccurateRip database at the time. Recoil is former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder's solo project. "Faith Healer" is a cover of the 1973 song "The Faith Healer" by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. In this incarnation, it has a rock-based dance industrial sound (basically the dark side of synth-pop), with almost comically "sinister" vocals provided by Nitzer Ebb frontman Douglas McCarthy. For the single releases, remixes were provided by rave superstars Moby and LFO, although this particular edition has no Moby mixes on it. The pairing with LFO turned out to be ideal, since LFO's sound was also moving more toward a slower, darker techno-industrial aesthetic. My guess is that the label thought they would get remixes that would appeal to rave DJs, rather than just getting more industrial club-type material. Regardless, it worked out well, musically. This is the only official CD that has LFO's Healed Mix on it. Sharing Widget |
