Danny Carvalho is a virtuoso slack-key guitar player who began studying with Ozzie Kotani at age 10. He also studied under Dennis Kamakahi and Neva Rego. In 2006, Carvalho made his first of two appearances on Garrison Keilor’s "A Prairie Home Companion" and released this album, his first.

After years of maturing as a musician, he also found his voice as a formidable singer, producer, band-leader, and writer. "Perpetuation of Hawaiian knowledge has been a constant in my career, and is more prominent now than ever with my study of culture, history, language and navigation," says Carvalho, who now has a B.S.in Hawaiian Studies from University of Hawaii. His love of Hawaiian culture continues to inspire his music while keeping him connected to the community. When asked what inspires his music, Carvalho says, "My music has always been and will always be about emotion, heart, and soul, above all else. No matter the style, genre, and influences I draw from, my music is about spreading the Hawaiian culture and soul through music."
