Description
RE SEED request for a Demonoid Peer: This is a LARGE DOWNLOAD 2.2GB If you can not download this at speeds in excess of 1 megabit per second then please do NOT join this swarm. Thank you. CDG+MP3 Karaoke. Please look at all the torrent tracks for full song listings as many surprises exist between the headline artistes. Large torrents like this are very good for the longer it takes a peer to download the torrent the longer they stay in the swarm. Hit and Run does not have such an impact as every peer in the swarm has to upload to a minimum of at least 2 other peers, so the power of the swarm comes into play, for the more peers in any swarm, the greater the number upload slots. Remember your upload slots are someone elses download speed!!! As a SEED I can not possibly look after the many hundreds of peers you see in major film and TV series swarms, so this is how bit torrent works. The exact opposite to the outdated Peer to Peer (P2P) methods of file transfer, for the greater the demand for the source material, THE FASTER THE AVERAGE Download or Swarm Speeds :) Now you see what is going on. Look after your upload speeds and the download speeds will get faster and faster. Try not to have too many upload slots open though. You can manually set this up in your Bit torrent clients. As a rough guide total upload speed should have: Max Upload Bandwidth 1.5 megabits per second set 4 to 5 upload slots 4 mbps set up slots to 10 10 mbps set up slots to 20 100 megabits per second (nice) then up to 100 slots may be opened and by experimenting you can find your best number. Few internet connections give more than 10% upload speeds over download. Many give a lot LESS :-( My connections for example (Download/Upload in megabits per second) are 30/1.6 100/4.3 and the jewel in the crown 100/100 (dedicated seed box in North America) So from my home in Europe I can seed up to 5 megabits per second allowing for overheads and from North America up to 100 megabits per second, though this is never actually achieved due to network saturation globally. As a rule ISP's pay for data uploaded not downloaded hence the imbalance between the two. So looking after your upload speed is all you have to do to increase your download speeds. Simple really. Try never to upload 100% of your measured speed unless you are JUST SEEDING as your downloading file need about 20 to 23% of your available upload speed for communication with the other peers and seeds in your download swarm. So keep this in mind, never overload your bit torrent client (like many who I see downloading more than one torrent at a time from me!!!) Faster download speeds are your reward. Enjoy.
