Having just recently been married and on a honeymoon. Jean and Scott Summers are thrust by Rachel Summers a.s.a. Mother Askani 2000 years into the future. There they live and Scott and Jean get a chance to raise Nathan Summer, Scotts son. He will someday become the strong warrior Cable. Our hereos also have to tackle the reign of Apocalypse and his student and protege Stryfe.

Cable's adventures in the future continue one year later in the Askani'Son mini-series, written and drawn by the same creative team of this mini-series. Cyclops and Phoenix's adventures continue in the Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix.
