Richard Green awakes over a thousand years in the future; the cryogenic suspension he and his wife Helen have paid for seems to have worked. Are his attempts to establish if she is still awaiting revival, along with the rest of what have become known as Cryogens, being frustrated deliberately? He doesn’t know, but along the way he discovers that, not only are some of the people around him not what they seem, some of them are not even people at all! Worse still, he uncovers evidence that there are forces that want all Cryogens dead.
