Bliżej nieokreślona przyszłość. Jeden z prywatnych satelitów korporacji należącej do Charles'a Weyland'a (twórcy androidów - w tym Bishopa znanego z serii Alien) odkrywa nieznane źródło ciepła na antarktydzie. Okazuje się nim być nieznana piramida. Właściciej korporacji postanawia zorganizować wyprawę badawczą - organizuje ekipę najlepszych specjalistów i wyrusza w miejsce odkrycia.

Niestety, okazuje się, że nie będzie to zwykła ekspedycja odkrywająca dawne znalezisko, gdyż piramida okazuje się rodzajem areny w starciu z dwoma niebezpiecznymi gatunkami i co gorsza.. ktoś postanowił ponownie zorganizować "igrzyska".
