How do you seed on here by chance? How does that work?

After you've finished downloading, do nothing. Don't move the file, don't rename the file. You can still watch it, but leave it where it is. It'll seed automatically.

But I've also noticed having a lot of downloads can slow downloading time when downloading a file.

You need to let your torrents seed more then to maintain a good ratio if that is your downloading style. If you download 1-3 at a time then the ratio may not be important to you. That is from my experience in the years spent downloading and sharing. For me if it's a popular file it will download fast, if it isn't it downloads slow. I let my torrents seed for a couple of weeks on my desktop. I don't go past a 2 ratio on my laptop because I don't leave it open and running. It's usually sleeping when not in use so I can just open it and logon for quick and easy use.
