Not true. iTunes, Amazon Prime etc are the places confusing everyone. The TV stations that ordered the seasons say that this would be Season 12.

Amazon Prime is even calling this episode S10E04, which is nonsense.

Nope. Half the internet gets confused because Digital Distributors (iTunes Amazon etc) use a different season system than the original TV stations that aired the content.

Fox released a few episodes they were holding as a micro season (which would make it 11) after their 10th season, which most though was 9.

Check TBS' website. The company that ordered the season is even calling it season 12. http://www.tbs.com/shows/american-dad.html
