As usual, actor, drunk and amateur sleuth Charles Paris is out of work. To make matters worse, his awful mother has come to stay, so when Charles is offered some voice over work, he jumps at the opportunity, even offering to give some guidance to an amateur theatre group. All is well, until a body is discovered in the midst of the am dram.....

Bill Nighy plays Charles wonderfully straight as always, while extracting the maximum dry humour, ably supported by his fellow actors.
