Will there be any problem if I change the .mkv extension of .mp4? Honestly it bothers me if the extension is in .mkv
In my opinion, I change mkv's a lot into mp4's if the mkv isn't supported by my tv. Usually the quality stays the same. I would try it if I were you. I use iSkysoft Video Converter Ultimate, it's a paid program but you can get it free here on kat. It works perfectly.
I use Handbreak, it's been around for ages and it's free, converts .mkv's to mp4's, and vice versa, it also converts audio. On classic flicks I like to convert the audio back to Mono from reprocessed surround, which to me is the audio equivalent of Colorizing B&W films... YMMV.
