Anuna-Anuna/Invocation; ancient and medieval sacred Celtic music EAC FLAC (2 CDs) (Size: 436.91 MB)
DescriptionCLICK TO ENLARGE Here are the first 2 albums from the Irish group Anuna. It is hard to classify what sort of music this is. There of course are heavy Celtic influences, but the ancient liturgical, Gregorian chant-like and poetic backdrop are in places reminiscent of the more transcendal style of Enya. They were at some point associated with Riverdance. These are the original versions of these two albums. I understand that they were re-recorded (? because of licensing issues??) about a decade after the original releases. Here is one sample track that is very liturgal (from the Invocation album) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGfBwWrNOic And a more recognizably Celtic song from the self titled album (this is a live version of the track on the CD) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsMBd1lQFNw You can read more about Anuna on their website. Or click on the scans of the liner notes above. Sharing Widget |
