follow the steps from the video for steamcmd only:
don't worry about server files, then take the Kortal crack and move it to where you steamcmd downloaded the game. then the game should be up to date

to manually change your name go to your
"C:arkShooterGameBinariesWin64LumaEmu.ini" and open it up to manually change your name.
While it uses 3DM cracks by default he includes both cracks as a nicety. The 3DM crack launches directly and the Kortal/LumaEMU version lets you set things like low mem, nosky, etc. Well done to include both!
Also the steamcmd updater is a nice inclusion as well and if you are having to move files then you don't have your paths set properly. You don't have to move anything when working properly. I had it update from 181.2 to 182.1 no problem and update over the existing version.

Files were set to right path of installed game, the updater downloads server files through steamcmd. and the way steamcmd works is it updates the files to a default folder in the steamcmd dir., when you don't use force install path parameters in the .bat files
which the .bat .exe doesn't have in it.
after extracting the files, contains both 3DM and Kortals, cracks, should be no need to have 3DM crack, Kortal crack works great. so I had to re due placement of the files myself to fix this issue
auto updater does nothing but installs steamcmd when trying to get ark update which are big update files it says unrecognized as an internal command.
1.you have to manually open steamcmd
2.type login anonymous
3. type (app_update 376030)
4. if it downloaded to the steacmd folder then move it to your ark directory if you didn't use force install path command for steacmd.
Either way it downloads the server files.
