Description
CADCAM ASDIP Steel is a suite of modules specifically dedicated to the design of structural steel members, based on the latest AISC specifications (AISC 360), that greatly simplifies the time-consuming calculations in any structural engineering office.
ASDIP Steel includes the design of the following three components: Steel Base Plates and Anchor Rods Design of column steel base plates under any combination of vertical load and bending moment, including axial tension, based on the AISC Design Series #1. This module designs the anchor rods (anchor bolts) in tension and shear per the latest provisions of the ACI 318-11 Appendix D, as well as the shear lugs per ACI 349, and the required anchor reinforcement. Steel Columns Design of steel columns subjected to axial load, shear and biaxial bending, per either the ASD or LRFD methodology of the AISC 360-10. Either second order or amplified first order analyses may be modeled. Find all the sections that meet the specified design criteria. Graphical interaction diagrams are easily generated. W, WT, HSS, Pipe, L and 2L sections may be modeled. Steel and Composite Beams Design of steel or composite beams subjected to shear and bending, based on the latest AISC ASD or LRFD methodology. Limiting deflections and camber can be specified. Find all the sections that meet the specified design criteria. Partially composite beams can be accurately modeled. Multiple concentrated and partially uniform loads can be specified. Design Modules ASDIP Steel is an integrated, interactive system that combines the flexibility of a fill-in-the-blanks format with the power of Windows Forms to effortlessly develop either an optimal design or a quick investigation. Using a screen with tabbed pages, ASDIP Steel allows you enter your data directly onto the forms and see the result immediately. This way you are always in control of the design process, since what you see is really what you get. In addition, the detailed results and the graphics are always available for you to follow by the touch of a tab. Select the section properties directly from the built-in database and get the calculations updated automatically. User Interface ASDIP Steel uses pull-down menus, dialog boxes, tool bars, and in-field editing as the main user interface. These components help to elegantly manage and control the complex design algorithms, transparently to the end user, in a simple way. In addition, ASDIP Steel validates the input data to prevent erroneous format, such as negative values for materials’ properties. You may intuitively develop your design with the combined text-with-values output messages. Use the rich set of dialog boxes, such as the Steel Sections Database, and the Design Manager, to easily communicate with the software and optimize your results. ASDIP Steel has three different levels of how detailed the results are presented: At-a-glance, Condensed, and Detailed. The Detailed tab shows the formulas with the calculations and with references to the Code. Project Manager The Project Manager is a very important piece in the ASDIP Steel system. It takes care of both the calculations and files management. From there you can create, copy, delete or print calculations, create and save projects, and organize your work. Everything is saved in a single project file, which can later be retrieved. Documentation Detailed on-line documentation is provided in HTML Help format to guide you throughout the software.
