Description:

• My own repack is a recommended option, cause I tested this update on it
  
• Most of Jack the Ripper data are recreated from original game files (the game has a lot of repetitive content and that's why the patch takes so much time to install)
  
• Alternative crack from 3DM can be found in NoDVD folder after installation, as well as bonus activators
  
• 100% Lossless & MD5 Perfect: all files are identical to originals after installation
  
• NOTHING ripped, NOTHING re-encoded
  
• Selective download feature - you can skip downloading and installing of language files you don't need
  
• Significantly smaller archive size (compressed from 16.7 to 2.3 GB for any single language)
  
• Installation takes 50-120 minutes (depending on your system, especially the HDD speed - on SSD it will install much faster)
  
• After-install integrity check so you could make sure that everything installed properly
  
• HDD space after installation: +16 GB to installation size (~70 GB during installation for temporary files)
  
• Game language (GUI + voiceovers) can be changed in game options

Selective Download

You can skip downloading of speech files you don't need. Here is the list of selective files:

• setup-fitgirl-selective-english.bin (also REQUIRED for Czech, Polish, Hungarian and other languages without their own speech pack)

• setup-fitgirl-selective-brazilian.bin
  
• setup-fitgirl-selective-french.bin
  
• setup-fitgirl-selective-german.bin

In example, if you want to launch the game with German UI/Subtitles/Voiceovers - skip all "selective" files,
but download setup-fitgirl-selective-german.bin & all main files (1-2).

If you want to play in your language, but with English voiceovers, install the game with English files and then change the UI language in-game.

Instructions

• Before installing the patch, go to "Step 1 - Verification" folder and copy both batch-files and _Redist folder to your installed game folder
  
• Run "_Check files for Update 1 version.bat" batch from game folder. If you get "All files OK" after verification - you have a proper Update 1 version of the game and can install the patch
  
• If CRC for some files are incorrect, run "_Check files for Version 1.21.bat" and wait for it to finish
  
• If you'll get "All files OK" after verification - you have a proper version 1.21 of the game and can install the patch
  
• If both of these batches don't give you "All files OK" - DO NOT install the patch, it WILL NOT APPLY
  
• After one of the batches give you "All files OK", run the installer from "Step 2 - Installation" folder and select the corresponding version of the patch - Update 1 or 1.21. If you select the wrong version - the patch won't apply and may even ruin your game
  

Problems during installation?

If you experience errors (Xdelta or Unarc ones) during installation, try the following things:

• Make sure your Windows username doesn't contain non-latin symbols. Use only latin characters & numbers
  
• Re-hash torrent (in Utorrent point to the game entry, stop download/upload, then click right mouse button, then click "Force Re-check")
  
• Disable antivirus, it can delete installation files or cracks on-the-fly
  
• Make sure you have at least as two times more virtual memory, than actual, physical RAM
  
• Make sure you have enough space on target drive & on C: drive (or whatever system drive you have)
  
• Try install the game NOT to C: (system) drive OR specifically to C: drive (Windows rights system is a tricky thing)
  
• Check your Windows folder (and below) for unarc.dll - if this file exists, delete it
  
• Run setup with proper rights, as shown on this image:
