Het verhaal is een prequel van de game Assassin's Creed II. Het draait om de vader van de belangrijkste van het spel het karakter van Ezio Auditore de Firenze. Giovanni is een moordenaar levensonderhoud tijdens de Renaissance in de 15e eeuw in Italië. Op dit dageraad van een nieuw tijdperk, een samenzwering wordt uitgezet door een corrupte familie naar de machtige Medici-familie omver te werpen en een verenigd Italië te vernietigen. Als een moordenaar, moet Giovanni geconfronteerd met deze dreiging en brengen rechtvaardigheid. Het verhaal introduceert de situatie vóór de Assassin's Creed II, en de vijanden van beide karakters.

The story is a prequel to the video game Assassin's Creed II. It centres around the father of the game's main character Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Giovanni is an assassin living during the Renaissance in 15th century Italy. At this dawn of a new era, a conspiracy is being plotted by one corrupt family to overthrow the powerful Medici family and destroy a unified Italy. As an assassin, Giovanni must face this threat and bring justice. The story introduces the situation before Assassin's Creed II, and the enemies of both characters.
