Description
Audition (オーディション?) is a Japanese novel by Ryu Murakami published in 1997 and published in English in 2009. A film version was done in 1999 by the famed adventurous and very avante garde film maker Miike Takashi, and if you haven't seen it, this version is the one I have watched and I highly recommend it: Your text to link here... I have others of Ryu Murakami's work, please visit my page, click on the uploads tab and enjoy (and please reseed!) Audition is at first a romance. Aoyama, a widower, decides get remarried after many years of being alone and raising his son. His friend comes up with the idea of creating a movie that will probably never be made to host an audition. Then Aoyama can specify what kind of woman he wants and have his choice in that group. It's a bit misogynistic, but sounds like a typical sweet romance set up. Aoyama meets Asami, a former ballerina with a melancholy air about her. They go on a few dates and then she disappears. The novel descends into the madness Ryu Murakami is famous for. Sharing Widget |
