This is the second collection of Auschwitz diaries that Amy Cravitz has uncovered and translated. Most of the diaries, apart from grammar corrections and so on were untouched. Some were translated from Polish and some from German. The first collection had seven stories. This one has four. They are as riveting as they are revolting, but they are true and they are the facts of life to those who endured such suffering at Auschwitz. Almost all of the prisoners are dead now, and all that remains are relics and museums and carefully hidden diaries now coming to light. Amy has avoided those she thought were fake, but taken hold of those which were deemed not only authentic by her, but by researchers as well. Her wish is that the ghastly memories of what happened at that dreadful place will never be forgotten. These four tales were published previously individually but packaged now for convenience and economy.
