Comedy series in which 18th century squire Fenton Babblewick inherits an estate in the darkest reaches of Yorkshire. To the horror of his manservant Snipe, Babblewick decides to take up residence on the estate. The well meaning protagonist fails to realise that his manservant and the rest of the estate regularly lead him by the nose, with comic outcomes.
