Bagpuss is a magical cat. When he wakes up, all his friends come to life. He can also make his thoughts visible in bubbles above his head.

Despite this, he doesn't play a major part in most of the stories, instead being content to lie on his rug and listen to the songs the others sing as they identify and repair the thing.

All in all, he's just an old, saggy cloth cat.

Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.

But Emily loved him.

And when Bagpuss was asleep,

All his friends were asleep.

The mice were ornaments on the mouse organ.

Gabriel and Madeleine were just dolls.

Professor Yaffle was just an old wooden bookend in the shape of a woodpecker.

Even Bagpuss himself, once he was asleep, was just an old, saggy cloth cat,

Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams,

But Emily loved him.

1. The Ship in a Bottle 12 February 1974 Some splints of wood are shaken out of a bottle by the mice. Bagpuss tells a story about mermaids and the magic repairs the model ship. The mice put it back into the bottle and raise the sails.

2. The Owls of Athens 19 February 1974 A dirty rag reveals a picture of an owl once cleaned. Madelaine recounts a story which explains why the owls sound like they do. Gabriel recounts in song the story of a king who needed a cushion to sit on.

3. The Frog Princess 26 February 1974 Assorted jewels, which initially are thought to represent a cat and mouse but which Gabriel decides were the crown jewels of a frog princess.

4. The Ballet Shoe 5 March 1974 Put to inventive use by the mice, and the subject of a very silly song about its possible use as a rowing boat.

5. The Hamish 12 March 1974 A tartan porcupine pincushion, and a legend of a small, soft creature from Scotland.

6. The Wise Man 19 March 1974 A broken figurine of a Chinaman (the Wise Man of Ling-Po, Yaffle explains) and a turtle.

7. The Elephant 26 March 1974 An elephant missing its ears.

8. The Mouse Mill 2 April 1974 A wooden toy mill demonstrated by the mice to make chocolate biscuits out of butterbeans and breadcrumbs. This turns out to be a mischievous fraud.

How to watch a UKB KVCD:

If you wish to View on your PC then use a media player called VLC IPB Image

which supports Cue and Bin format movies, but be warned, this and

Windows Media Player have been known to show incorrect movie runtimes

i.e. 37 minutes when the movie is actually 2 hours long.

You can download the VLC media player from www.videolan.org but it's NOT

recommended to view KVCD's on your PC as they're specifically encoded

to view on your standalone DVD Player and TV. If you are planning on

watching on your PC then please don't moan about quality as you have

been warned. If you wanted to watch on you PC then you've downloaded

the wrong release, You want a DIVX or XVID version so I'll say it

one more time, don't moan about quality as you have been warned.

To burn to disc using Nero just right click on the cue file which

will be the smallest of the 2 then choose Open With and browse to

your Nero.exe (possibly just called Nero) file. (Located in Program

Files / Ahead / Nero folder) Ensure the *Always use the selected

program to open this type of file* box is ticked, this way next time

all you have to do is double click the cue file and the burning

interface will open, now choose which speed you would like to burn

your disc at. It's recommended to burn at no more than 8x, Or 10x if you

burn at a faster speed this may impair the quality and make the

video pixelated. [Info By FFCcottage]
