This is a film made in 1959. A simple, straight forward storyline. This film presents a humane side of the World War II and its effect on people living through the most incredible hardships. A genuine masterpiece of a world cinema. A must see.rnrnDuring World War II, 19 year old soldier Alyosha gets a medal as a reward for a heroic act at the front. Instead of this medal he asks for a few days leave to visit his mother and repair the roof of their home. On the train eastwards he meets Shura who is on her way to her aunt. In those few days traveling together they fell in love.rnrnOnce you have finished watching it, my friends, I would request you to remember that this didn\'t end with the end of WW II. Still today we are creating lots of Alyosha and Shura... almost every minute... at some part of the world or another. Sadly, for some people it\'s still a real life story.
