Batman and Robin

Batman and Robin. What a mess. I remember going to see this comic book wannabe in the theaters. It was then I realized that movies are going downhill. I mean, hockey in the first action scenes? Hockey? I am a Canadian, I love hockey. But not in a Batman movie. What where they thinking? Was this movie made/sponsored by cocaine?

The decisions that where made in this movie where somewhat over-hopeful. You could tell that they where going all out for the comic book feel. The director tried to fuse the old funny batman tv series with the new and fumbled greatly.

The sets where great, the acting good (except for the weird head bobbing that Clooney was doing) , the writing not so much. Too many extra comic book ideas where crammed into this movie. Just like the Spiderman 3 movie directed by Sam Rami. They could have made 2 movies out of this. Why they need to have over 2 antagonists is beyond me.

To be fair, the movie does try to give the audience some batman with humor. It just falls flat.

Now the movie is re-edited for a better story flow. No hockey in the beginning. You only see a few bad dudes skating. Less one liners from Mr Freeze. No teary eyed (I'm dying) scenes with the butler. No motorcycle racing scenes with pre-batgirl. Less "humor".
