After Malcom Turner chases the mailman to see if his son Trent got into college. Malcom finds out he has. He then goes home and tells Trent the good news, but Trent's not there. He goes to get Trent who is preforming with his band. When they go home, Trents tells his step father, he doesn't want to be a college student - he wants to be a music famous star. He wants Malcom to sighn a contract he made. When witnessed a crime, teenager Trent Pierce (Brandon T. Jackson) is forced to disguise as a wacky female teenager, Charmaine Daisy Pierce in order to be saved from getting killed after witnessing a murder as his stepfather, FBI agent, Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) disguises as his alter-ego grandmother, Big Momma as he hides him at a all-girls peforming arts school, Georgia Girls School for the Arts to get a flash drive hidden in the school. After Big Momma asks for a job he gets it only, because Beverly Townsend has quit her job. So he gets it, and right aways goes to his room where he'll be sleeping with Trent. But Jasmine, a mean brat, gives a warning to Big Momma: This is her school, and Big Momma better stay out of her way. Meanwhile Trent develops a crush on a student named Haley.
Big Momma and Trent are having dinner with the other girls on a table. Hailey,Jasmine, and other girls. Jasmine tells Trent that all the new girls have to do something to prove that they belong in the school and eat atleast one time . It's rather: Sing,dance, or play an instrument. Trent chooses singing. He sings a song, with Hailey's help on the piano. Big Momma gets on the table and starts dancing , and unfortunatley breaks the table. Later that night, Big Momma runs into the security guard, Kurtis, who shows Big Momma the library. Since Big Momma asked for a tour, Big Momma sees the music box, and asks Kurtis why it'd be valuable, but after finding a necklace Malcom leaves . Meanwhile, Trent is with the girls all over again at a meeting. Trent realizes that Jasmine has the same necklace as the one Big Momma finds near the music box. They then suspect that Jasmine is a bad guy. Trent and Malcom talk and make a deal : Trent helps Malcom, Malcom sighns the contract. Malcom asks Trent why does he like rap. And they start singing and dancing together.
The next day, Big Momma has to be naked for art class. But Malcom asks for a towel. So at first the students draw Big Momma with a towel, then the Art Class teacher asks him to take the towel off. So Trent gets up and presses the school alarm. Everyone goes outside, and they find out that it was a lie. For a free period, Trent and Hailey go shopping. But Trent almost passes out when he and Hailey have to share a room together to change. When Hailey starts taking her clothes off, he gets out of the room. Meanwhile,Malcom is grateful Trent pressed the Alarm. Trents hooks Hailey up with himself. At first Hailey says she hates Trent. But when Trent and Hailey have a first date, they connect a bit. While Kurtis begins to fall in love with Big Momma. Big Momma searches for any clues to help him with the mission. But after an attempt to check the music box out, he runs when Kurtis comes into the library.
Later, Big Momma asks one of the girls about the music box. It is revealled that Hailey and Jasmine were messing with the music box. But Jasmine and Hailey are innocent however though. The next day, at the bookcase Hailey and Trent are singing, when Hailey finds out who Trent really is.She gets angry, but the bad guys who'd tracked Trent and Big Momma. The bad guys capture Hailey. So Malcom and Trent recue her as themselves. She finds out everything about them two. Even that Malcom is a secret FBI agent. Malcom and Trents say "Freak with it ! Freak with it ! Ow!" and hit two of the bad guys. Then the main bad guy threatens to shoot Trent, and Malcom and Trent have a family moment. They then fight the bad guy. He is arrested, and Hailey and Trent continue dating,but Malcom sighns the contract. Malcom thanks Trent for helping with the mission.
