At first, the production house wanted the name of this film as Shotru 2, but later changed it due to negative feedback.[1] Bollywood actress Mahek Chahal did a item song with Prosenjit in this film.[2] This movie is a remake of Telugu film Vikramarkudu, which had been dubbed into Malayalam as Vikramathithya, into Bhojpuri as Vikram Singh Rathod IPS, and into Hindi as Pratighat, was remade into Kannada as Veera Madakari, into Tamil as Siruthai, and into Hindi as Rowdy Rathore. The film had a moderate opening at the box-office but got mostly positive reviews from the critics and declared a Super hit. Plot Gupi (Prosenjit Chatterjee) is a small time conman in love with Madhu (Richa Gangopadhyay), a pretty girl whom he met at a wedding he wasn't invited to.
