COMMENTS: This is the International theatrical version, also known as the Criterion Edition, which is largely identical to the U.S theatrical release but without the graphic violence cut out from it. SYNOPSIS: With a blend of science fiction and noir detective fiction, this dystopian film presents a vision of the future where man has developed the technology to create replicants, human-like androids with short life spans built by the Tyrell Corporation for use in dangerous off-world colonization. Deckard is a Blade Runner -- a euphemism for detectives that hunt down and assassinate rogue replicants. He is forced back into active duty to track down a quartet of replicants who have escaped from an off-world colony and headed to Earth.
