This project was the first all dj/all scratching (turntablist) album ever released. These twelve tracks by world renown DJs helped pave the way for the return of the hip-hop disc jockey. Features Invisbl Skratch Piklz, Rob Swift(X-Men), Beat Junkies, Peanut Butter Wolf, Mixmaster Mike, Kool DJ E.Q., DJ Babu, Cut Chemist and more!In the late ‘90s, hip-hop DJs garnered more mainstream attention than ever before, with "turntablism" taking center stage and temporarily moving the spotlight off the rapper. A whole cottage industry exploded, with long-neglected scratch-happy deck destroyers becoming stars in the own right, doing TV commercials, selling out international tours, scoring endorsement deals, etc. Countless albums and DVDs ensued, (including Deep Concentration and the documentary Scratch), but this one basically jump-started the whole movement. Released by San Francisco's Bomb Hip-Hop, it was the first all scratching album ever, featuring a virtual 'who's who' of the era's best DJs. Fittingly, the Bay is well represented by Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Mix Master Mike, and Peanut Butter Wolf, L.A. chimes in via the Beat Junkies, Cut Chemist, Babu, and Z-Trip, the X-Men's Rob Swift stops by from Queens, plus we get overseas jams courtesy of Jeep Beat Collective and ASAP Productions.
