The follow-up to the 2009 first-person shooting sensation, Borderlands, Borderlands 2 was announced on August 3, 2011. It was released September 18, 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in North America, and on September 21 internationally.

Borderlands 2 marks a return to Pandora, the setting of the first game, where the player will find all-new characters, weapons, enemies, and equipment.

Just as with the previous game, Borderlands 2 supports four-player co-op as well as two-player splitscreen co-op on the console versions.
