Standalone Update 8

Standalone Update 8 adds the following to Standalone Update 7:
- Borderlands 2 version '1.8.2 (117917 steam)' and all available DLCs as of April 16, 2014, including Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre and Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax.

Standalone Update 8 is a delta update that must be applied to Standalone Update 7 version only. No other game version is supported.

To build Standalone Update 8, you must:
1 - If you don't already have, build Borderlands 2 version '1.8.0 (116228 steam)' from Standalone Update 7: http://kickasstorrents.ee/borderlands-2-mac-standalone-update-7-t9012785.html
2 - Apply enclosed patch to the Borderlands 2 version from step 1.

This is Borderlands 2 standalone version '1.8.2 (117917 steam)' Update 8, up to date as of April 16, 2014.

Additional characters available (all tested):
• Mechromancer Pack: Available when you choose a character class.
• Psycho Pack: Available when you choose a character class.

Additional maps available (all tested):
• Creature Slaughter Dome: Entry at the far east of "Wildlife Exploitation Preserve".
• Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty: Fast Travel to "Oasis".
• Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage: Fast Travel to "Badass Crater of Badassitude".
• Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt: Fast Travel to "Hunter's Grotto".
• Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: Fast Travel to "Unassuming Docks".

Additional Head Hunter maps available (all tested):
• TK Baha's Bloody Harvest: Fast Travel to "Hallowed Hollow".
• The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler: Fast Travel to "Gluttony Gulch".
• How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day: Fast Travel to "Marcus's Mercenary Shop".
• Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre: Fast Travel to "Rotgut Distillery".
• Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax: Fast Travel to "Wam Bam Island".

Level cap increases available (all tested):
• Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: Finish the game in "True Vault Hunter Mode" and have your character reach level 50, the new "Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode" will be available.
• Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Fast Travel to "The Raid on Digistruct Peak". Each time you complete this map at level 72, you’ll receive an additional overpower level, up to a maximum of eight.

• All 18 Madness, Supremacy and Domination for Assassin, Commando, Gunzerker, Mechromancer, Psycho and Siren Packs (collectively known as Costume Pack)
• Assassin Stinging Blade, Commando Haggard Hunter, Gunzerker Dapper Gent, Mechromancer Steampunk Slayer, Psycho Dark Psyche, Siren Glitter and Gore Packs (collectively known as Costume Pack 2)

Additional items available (all tested):
• From the Premiere Club Pack: characters get the Vault Hunter's Relic and Gearbox GunPack. Plus, you get 255 Golden Keys instead of a measly single one!
• From the Collector's Edition Pack: Contraband Sky Grenade.

Other changes (all tested):
• When opening the loot chest in Sanctuary, you don't spend a Golden Key (but you still need one). Now you can loot that golden chest as often as you want.
• Complete English, French, German, Italian and Spanish localizations are included. Language is automatically selected from your ‘Language & Region’ system preference pane.
• Standalone version: no Steam connection required.


Limitations:
• As this is a standalone version, all functions requiring Steam won't work, so: no internet game, no Shift Codes, no Hot Fix... Don't lament, go buy the game. However, LAN multiplayer games do work (tested between two Macs).
• LAN games version restrictions still apply: don't mix versions of Borderlands 2, be it PC or Mac.
• Borderlands 2 will not run if any of its enclosing folders contains non pure ASCII character (i.e. avoid diacritical marks, japanese characters etc.).


Notes:
• If you want to run the Steam version (hint: internet multiplayer game) with above enhancements:
1. You must have bought Borderlands 2 on Steam.
2. Ensure your Steam version of Borderlands 2 is the same as this standalone version,
3. Ensure Steam is set up to PREVENT automatic updates to Borderlands 2,
4. Copy Contents/MacOS and Contents/GameData/DLC from the standalone version to the Steam version found in
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Borderlands 2/
where ~ stands for your home folder
If you use a customized SteamApps folder on another disk, change the above path to match it.

• Why is there no AppStore Standalone version? Patched applications are prevented from using Game Center. Without Game Center, there’s no benefit for an AppStore version, only drawbacks: it would still be without Golden Keys, without the Costume Packs and some other customizations, etc.
