- Plot -

Buffy Summers has just moved to Sunnydale after burning down her old school's gym and hopes to escape her Slayer duties. Her plans are complicated by Rupert Giles, her new Watcher, who reminds her of the inescapable presence of evil. Sunnydale High is built atop a Hellmouth, a portal to demon dimensions that attracts supernatural phenomena to the area. Buffy meets two schoolmates, Xander Harris and Willow Rosenberg, who help her fight evil through the series, but they must first prevent The Master, an ancient and especially threatening vampire, from opening the Hellmouth and taking over Sunnydale.



- Trama -

Buffy l'ammazzavampiri (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) è una serie televisiva appartenente al genere horror/azione basata sulla trama dell'omonimo film del 1992. La serie è stata creata da Joss Whedon, già autore del film; il titolo è spesso abbreviato in Buffy o BtVS. Negli Stati Uniti d'America la serie è stata trasmessa dal 10 marzo 1997 al 20 maggio 2003.
La serie ha per protagonista Buffy Anne Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), una semplice ragazza originaria di Los Angeles, a cui è però affidato il ruolo di Cacciatrice, prescelta quindi per lottare contro i vampiri, i demoni e le forze del male. Come le Cacciatrici che l’hanno preceduta, Buffy è guidata da un Osservatore (watcher) che ha il compito di insegnarle a combattere e seguirla passo passo in quest'avventura destinata a durare tutta la sua vita. A differenza delle altre cacciatrici, però, Buffy ha a fianco i suoi fedeli amici, che formeranno con lei la Scooby Gang (slayerettes) assistendola e sostenendola nella sua lotta.
