Description

Bury The Fallen are a Metalcore band from Melbourne, Australia who have been around since 2009. The band has previously put out two releases, a EP and a split CD with Adelaide band Arcadia. The band has gone through a number of line up changes over the past 6 years but this has not held them back at all.

2013 saw the band venture over to San Diego to record their debut album We Are The Wolves. The band chose to record with Dan Castleman at Lambesis studios. Dan has worked on albums with As I Lay Dying, Devildriver and Austrian Death Machine to name just a few. The move was well worth it as the production on the album is highlight. The production stands up against the big boys in metal.

"Adios" is the opening track, it starts the album with a nice clean guitar piece before opening up with some great lead parts entering into a huge breakdown. Its pretty easy to get an idea of what this band is about early. This track has some sweet riffs and some sweet vocal melodies through the chorus. It sets the tone for the album.

"Heartless" opens with a great riff that will get crowds doing circle pits for sure. Again the band uses Tim Aldridge to full effect on the big chorus. Enter the big breakdown into killer solo. "Heartless" is already a favourite on the album. Next up is "Meet Jo Black" which the band released sometime back with a lyric video. Another killer riff throughout the track. "Blinded" thumps in and keeps the album rolling, "Butchering Reality" is a track the band just released a clip for, another great heavy track, screamer Darren Ridsdale really shows off his versatility on this one. "Brothers In Arms" "Parasite " and "My Salvation" are all great tracks the show off the talent of the band. "On Your Own" opens up with clean vocals and is another highlight of the album. Aldridge again shining through with great clean vocals. "Saviour" is another circle pit type track, "Incarcerated" keeps the album going full blast. The title track "We Are The Wolves" is up next and we finish the album with "Through The Tides"

In conclusion its easy to tell the influences on these guys. Some tracks could have fit on any As I Lay Dying album. The band has a knack for writting killer riffs. I predict that this album will open up a few doors to the band over the next year or so.
