Details

Button Moon featured the adventures of Mr. Spoon, who in each episode would take off in his home-made rocket ship with his family; Mrs. Spoon and their daughter Tina Teaspoon to Button Moon which floated in blanket sky.

Once on Button Moon they would have various adventures meeting creatures on Button Moon before heading back to Junk Planet. They would often use their telescope while on Button Moon to spy on creatures on other planets.

The characters of the show were made out of everyday objects - paper, buttons, bottles, spoons, tins, etc. and were animated by puppeteers who wore black outfits to blend into the dark background of "blanket sky".

The Spoon family (named so because all their arms were made from wooden spoons), lived in a house made out of a cardboard box for walls with a scrapbook roof a paint-pot for a chimney-pot, and knitting needles for a tv aireal, even

their furniture was made from Junk; a old Tea box for a dresser, a candy box for a bed with a powder puff pillow, and a table made out of a old jam jar lid with pencils for legs. Even their rocket was made from junk; a plastic funnel for the top, a baked bean tin for the middle, and a sponge pudding tin for the base.

The Spoon family lived in Treacle Street on Junk Planet.

s04e01 Egbert Goes To Button Moon (30/01/1985)
Tina visits her best friend Egbert, who lives at the top of a block of flats. They fly to Button Moon in the home-made spaceship. Then, through the telescope, they see Bertie and Gertie being king and queen for a day.

s04e02 The Spaceship Breaks Down (06/02/1985)
Mr Spoon takes a trip to Button Moon, while Mrs Spoon is busy wallpapering their Cardboard Box House. The spaceship breaks down on the way, but Rag Doll comes to the rescue. Through the telescope they see Scruffy the dog and Dennis the rabbit.

s04e03 Playing Games On Button Moon (13/02/1985)
Tina has been naughty so she can't go to Button Moon and Mr Spoon takes Egbert with him. They watch Small Bottle and Little Bottle playing games and through the telescope they see Brew the witch.

s04e04 The Gravy Boat (20/02/1985)
Tina and Mr Spoon take the Gravy Boat on Button Hole Pond. They see a sponge fish who doesn't want to go to school. Through the telescope they see Jungle Mouse sleeping in his water melon hammock. When he wakes, he can't find his friends.

s04e05 Sticky Sweets (27/02/1985)
Mr and Mrs Spoon and Tina take Egbert to Button Moon. They watch Rag Doll disco-dancing and Freddy Teddy trying to play the piano. Through the telescope they see a farmyard with Pamela Pig and her piglets and a walking haystack.

s04e06 Picnic On Button Moon (06/03/1985)
Mr and Mrs Spoon pick up Tina and Egbert from school in the home-made spaceship to take them to Button Moon. They watch Rag Doll and Freddy Teddy having a picnic. Through the telescope they see Scruffy the dog, who finds a robin buried in the snow.

s04e07 The Cake Fairy Goes Ice Skating (13/03/1985)
The Spoon family take Granny Spoon to Button Moon. She enjoys watching Marzi skate on ice. Through the telescope they see Brew the witch and Thunder the dragon go to the fish and chip shop.

s04e08 Rag Doll Marries A Dinosaur (20/03/1985)
Mr Spoon has a cold and can't go to Button Moon. Mrs Spoon takes Tina and Egbert to watch the toys playing a wedding game. Through the telescope they see a jungle. It's so hot that monkey gets everyone to make sunhats.

s04e09 Egbert Goes Camping (27/03/1985)
Daddy Egbert is a Scoutmaster. He takes Egbert camping in Brushwood Forest. Tina wishes she could go.

s04e10 Banana Birds (03/04/1985)
Mrs Spoon is fixing the television aerial, so Mr Spoon takes Tina and Egbert to Button Moon. They see Small Bottle and Captain Large trying to unblock some pipes. Through the telescope they watch Scruffy the dog and Simon the tortoise.

s04e11 Pink And Purple Dinosaur (10/04/1985)
The Spoon family take another trip to Button Moon. They see a lonely Pink and Purple Dinosaur looking for a friend.

s04e12 The Shark In The Bath (17/04/1985)
Mrs Spoon is driving the spaceship. Tina and Mr Spoon see lots of bubbles floating in Blanket Sky. Small Bottle is taking a bath. Through the telescope they see a cockerel that didn't crow.

s04e13 The Paper Parade (24/04/1985)
Tina is very excited to be going to Button Moon to see the paper parade. Queenie Jelly and Monsieur Blancmange are pleased that the Spoon family will act as judges. Vacuum Cleaner is sad that he doesn't have a fancy dress costume for the parade.
