Found the fix: You have to fix permissions in the unix executables of the crack.
right click the crack and press "show package contents" and navigate to Contents/MacOS
open the terminal and type
sudo chmod a+x (drag the file named "patcher" into the terminal) and press enter. type your password.
do the same for the other file.
