Fresh starts come in a variety of forms, and are sometimes just the catalyst needed to propel an entity forward towards its ultimate goal. With every other affect in place, a name change was the last order of business for five musicians to be able to shed the past and present themselves to the world how they always envisioned. Since saying farewell to their previous moniker (Us, From Outside), Chasing Safety has truely come into their own with a sense of resurgence, confidence, & comfort.

The band has never once skipped a beat – continuing a rigorous touring schedule, with new merchandise & songs in tow. Chasing Safety has released three singles thus far, which are available for purchase & can be seen in their live set. These songs will also appear on their forthcoming EP, The Machine, which is due out January 28th, 2014. This material isn’t entirely a departure from the sound heard in previous releases made by U,FO; it is however, the first time this solidified line-up of members has come together to write & record, & shows an extensive progression in artistry from any/all musical endevours they have each previously been a part of. The band has crafted songs that immediately arouse a sense of intrigue, which eventually settles into a feeling that these are what will catipult them to the point of becoming a household name (& that was when listening to rough mixes, passively whilst driving, so imagine when hearing them now).

With confidence in their music & knowledge of the next steps to be taken, Chasing Safety teamed up with Ambitious Films to breathe visual life into their song, “We Believe.” Equipment in tow, both band & film crew trekked to a burnt down house in New Jersey to shoot a mixture of performance shots & storyline. The immense passion & joy that the band emminates when playing has been captured through a series of unique angles & edits. Intertwined throughout, viewers follow the journey of a character who strives to piece together a kaleidoscope & the easily altered perceptions of life. The music video is an exceptionally strong presentation for the band’s first delivery of content that marries both sonic & visual elements; validated with an exclusive premiere in the APTV section of Alternative Press‘ website.

With the release of the video for “We Believe,” & pre-orders available for The Machine, it would seem as though Chasing Safety has a full plate. They are not allowing any time to fall to the waist-side, though, as they will enter the studio in February to track a full-length album. Beyond that, announcements & plans are being layed out; ensuring that 2014 is an action packed year for the band. It may have been an alteration in name which paved the way for a fresh start, but it is the increasing desire to live out a collective dream that will continue to lead Chasing Safety to success.
