Description
Screening in British cinemas between 1968 and 1972, there were three series of these short B-movies for kids, though only the first two were made by the CFF. Those comprised 12 episodes. Regrettably (perhaps!) I have only been able to find 8 of them.
From series 1 (1968): “Ghosts and Ghoulies” (New gang members Whizz and Peewee's spooky initiation dare,) “Kontiki Kids” (The gang build a raft to ferry them across a canal but struggle to ferry the raft /to/ the canal,) “Bob-a-Job” (The gang make collections for the youth club,) and “Peewee's Pianola” (The gang find a pianola and try to take it to junkyard. But it runs away, with Peewee trapped inside it...) From series 2 (1969): “Peewee Had A Little Ape” (Toby is mistaken for an escaped circus ape,) “A Good Deed In Time” (The gang try borrow a ladder from a decorator, who attempts to climb out of the window with, er, hilarious results,) “It's Not Cricket” (chaos as the kids try to get their cicket ball back) and The Astronoughts [sic] (Whizz makes a spacecraft and they all blast off – apparently...) The Magnificent Six and a ½ series was created by Harry Booth and Roy Simpson who, in the early '70s took, the concept to television in what became the series, “Here Come the Double Deckers.” Sharing Widget |
