Description

Recorded live at The Academy Of Music, New York, New York.
Includes liner notes by Alan Clayson.

Originally released in 1973, this live recording finds the British boogie-band
stadium rockers at their mature best, performing their unique take on blues and
jazz classics like "Seventh Son," "Going to New York," and "Let's Work Together."
There's an extended instrumental passage on "Flight," and "Mesopopmania" highlights
Colin Cooper and Peter Haycock's Allmans-style dueling guitars, while "So Many Roads"
features a gorgeous Peter Green-style guitar workout, and "Shake Your Love" is a
bone-rattling Bo Diddley-esque jam.

Climax Blues Band: Colin Cooper (vocals, guitar, saxophone); Peter Haycock (vocals,
guitar); Derek Holt (bass, drums); John Cuffley (drums).

LSM Edit note:

Track 11 - Goin' to New York, was shortened drastically on the CD releases.
Using Adobe Audition 7, I took an LP FLAC rip of track 11 I had from a few
years ago (original uploader unknown, sorry) & lifted the missing section and
pasted it into the CD version, taking painstaking care to merge it in without
any flaws in continuity or volume level. The LP audio had to be raised slightly
to match the CD audio level.

After many times re-listening to the patch job I made, I'm satisfied with it and
offer it up for all you CBB fans in lossless audio.

I also edited the Inset JPG and changed the time back to the correct length using
Paint Shop Pro X7.

The time in the LP back cover shows about a minute less than the actual time of the
corrected file, probably due to a difference of where the tracks were split on the
CD versus LP. There was quite a lenghty section of crowd noise before they came back
out to play the encores, Goin' To New York & Let's Work Together, with the same thing
happening in between these 2 tracks also.

Enjoy the music,
LiquidSkyMan
