Crown Court was courtroom drama which ran between 1972 to 1984 and shown in the afternoons on ITV where it was produced by Granada Television. A court case in the Crown Court of the fictional town of Fulchester would typically be played out over three weekdays in half-hour episodes. Although those involved in the case were actors, the jury was made up of members of the general public from the local Granada Television area and it was this jury alone which decided the verdict.

Synopsis: Despite the wishes of senior teachers' Sam Tait, who's only talent is woodwork, stays on to the Sixth Form. When someone starts a fire at the school Tait is considered enough of an outsider to fit the profile of arsonist. Under pressure from the police he pleads guilty but did he really do it?
