Description

The raw ingredients are listed below and the results are nine guitar and
three bass sound setups for loops in four keys in each of the five tempos
(there are some extra Gretsch loops in the 120bpm folder as I got a little
enthusiastic with that guitar having only bought it the previous day!).

Due to the starting up of my studio build the amp collection has gone into
temporary storage so the instruments were recorded direct through the ISA828
preamps and virtual amp duties were handled bynPeavey ReValver, native Nuendo
amp sims and the Ampeg SVX (IK Multimedia). The only virtual effect outside
of amping and reverb is the tremolo on the HardTrem samples which is tempo
matched (the tremolo on thenFuzzTrem samples is the Moogerfooger Ring Mod on
a slow speed setting – makes a brilliant tremolo).

The loops were recorded as such which means that not all have a clean start
as their phrasing may beginnaround the fourth beat of the previous bar
(slow strums also start ahead of the beat). If you want to sequencena real
start to these then just copy the loop to the previous bar position and trim
off everything up to theinitial strum/pick/noise you want.

Style-wise there is a good dollop of funk/disco stuff for a range of genres
as well as crunchy/twangy phrases for layering with or counterpointing synth lines.
Stretch ‘em, pitch ‘em, chop’em…make ‘em your own any way you please.
