Weird School series is fun!

My 7 year old daughter loves this series. First discovered at school, we have purchased many of the available titles, and she avidly reads each one at night. Good practice, although some slang and concepts ("I hate school") have to be addressed by the parent.

Good concept, lots of negative words from kid to kid

I was beyond excited when I first discovered this series! I purchased a couple of titles to read before I gave them to my eight year old son. I did not like the constant name calling between the children. I do realize this happens at schools, I just don't think it should be used so repetively in a book of fiction. I have realized that some books in the series have less name calling than others so I will just proofread them before purchasing. This title had too many for my taste. I think the concept and actual writing are great but I don't like having to repeatedly address the negative connotations.
