Miss Mary lives in a cave and sleeps hanging upside down from the ceiling. Her boyfriend, Zack, looks like a zombie and plays in a heavy metal band. And worse than all that, they're British! Eeeeek! These are great books for girls and boys. My 4th grade daughter is really struggling with reading and this book jump started her interest. Now she has read just about all the volumes of My Weird School Daze and is really starting to enjoy reading. The books are intersting and funny. They even have me chuckling!!! This is a good book for kids By Sam Skuce on December 17, 2014 This is a good book for kids, as long as they don't get freaked out by the one "real" ghost at the very end, but you should probably know before you buy it that the summary is almost completely wrong - the characters never seriously consider that Miss Mary might be a vampire, she's just an apathetic student teacher that the kids in the book find fascinating because she's from England and her boyfriend constantly sneaks into class and prevents them from learning math. There is a lot of funny confusion arising from Miss Mary and her boyfriend's use of British slang, such as "bloody" and "bangers and mash," and it's fun to make up English accents when you're reading it aloud to your kid, so I definitely recommend it if you have kids that like the "silly school" genre.
