.avi XviD is slowly being phased out.

I myself was Disappointed when i learnt this, but understand now that the x264 SD releases are FAR SUPERIOR to the old XviD.\n

Yes, sometimes they are larger (This is only dependent on bit-rate). This release for example, is 1553 kb/s. \n

On old XviD standards, it would be around the 1000 mark, which is a part I am yet to understand about the new "scene" SD x264 .mp4!!!!\n

Currently, most new x264 .mp4 container releases are mostly smaller, yet there seems no rules on bitrate, so higher bitrate = bigger file.\n

That aside, I myself didn't care much that this release was 116mb above the old 350mb standard. Was honestly just happy to find it (after a season of uncertainty - what happened to momentum??!!)\n

Looked amazing on my 55" full hd plasma, a few satellite glitches throughout, but crisp and very good for the most part!!\n

I for one am an .mp4 convert - Just wish they would sort out a bit-rate standard!!!

Yeah i know this has been in the pipeline for a few months now but if i want to watch mp4's i have to do it on my PC as my TV and set top box don't read anything but AVI. Thanks for the Detailed response though :)
